Description
NOW OFFERS OVER – $1,818 PER stool
LOCATION- Cranbourne, MELBOURNE but these can be freighted Australia-wide by a specialist furniture carrier. Approx. $300 to get both these stools to Sydney. Approx. $110 to most areas of Melbourne.
To be sold only as a set of 4. Even if you want only 3 it’d be stupid not to invest in the forth. Matching sets of 4 of these are vrtually impossible to get (particularly her in Australia!!!). This is a VERY astute investment with re-sale value sitting at the very very top.
Background Info and Provenance
(This description was written in late-2025. Some information may be time-sensitive eg. values.)
Discover the epitome of timeless elegance with these iconic Model 61 bar stools, created by renowned Danish designer Eric Buch in 1961. This exclusive set of four vintage originals, complete with authentic mid-1960s labels, represents a rare investment opportunity in the world of bar stools. Unlike the countless replicas flooding the market, these genuine pieces not only boast the peace-of-mind of unquestionable craftsmanship (this set of stools are now about 60 years old); they are also a finite asset that will appreciate in value over time. There’s a real scarcity of matching vintage sets available (PARTICULARLY FOUR) because this design sits at the pinnacle- these are arguably the most iconic bar-stools ever made. Our collection here stands out as a unique offering that combines aesthetic appeal with long-term investment potential.
So rare in Australia- I can not find any of these vintage stools on offer here (and I’ve been looking for 6 months now- since this set first came my way.)
Pairs occasionally come up in this design (but even pairs are priced at more per stool overseas than what we have on these). Sets of three are very uncommon. Sets of FOUR matching vintage stools in this design are virtually non-existent.
The cheapest vintage original set of FOUR I could find online worldwide was a set of 4 identical to these (in Europe) for AU $13,967 (AU $3,492 EACH!). They’ve sold now- others currently available are way more expensive.
Advantages of investing in this design-
- The organic structure of Eric Buch’s design characterises the true Danish sculptural aesthetic (they look like an artist’s easel!)
- The cushioned seat with lipped edges curves up slightly to create a lower back support for optimal comfort while the footrest built into the base provides added support
- The frames on the iconic model 61 stools are a very solid construction, assembled as one piece for complete durability.
- These are vintage originals with ROSEWOOD footrests, newer releases don’t have this as rosewood is an endangered species so it’s almost impossible for makers to get their hands on rosewood anymore
Secure your place in design history and elevate your space with this unparalleled INVESTMENT opportunity.
