NOW ONLY – $895 PER single-seater chair. The 2-seater sofa is priced at $1,100. Full suites in this design are virtually impossible to get. We’d prefer to keep this matching suite together.

Being sold under consignment by a regular iNVISeDGE seller in Bayswater, MELBOURNE but can be transported Australia-wide for a reasonable additional fee. (ABOUT $300 to get the full suite to Sydney). I personally worked with this suite and took all these photos so I’d be very familiar with what I’m selling- the condition of this suite from the 1970’s is INCREDIBLE!

We also have a pair of matching Tessa T9 high-back chairs and footstool all from the same home. ALL this furniture is in incredible condition. It has all been extremely well looked-after.

Tessa T9 Lounge Suite – 1970’s Australian Design Icon

This exceptional Tessa T9 lounge suite is one of Fred Lowen’s rarest and most captivating designs. Consisting of a 2-seater sofa and a matching pair of armchairs, this suite represents the peak of Australian mid-century furniture manufacturing. Full suites in the T9 series are very hard to get- this is the first T9 suite we’ve had after 25 years of trading. Designed by Tessa in the 1970’s and proudly MADE IN AUSTRALIA, the Tessa T9 is a personal favourite of mine for its masterclass in contrasting elements. It boasts a bold, masculine presence, yet remains beautifully elegant and feminine. The stunning Blackbean timber frames flow with the fluid, sweeping motion of a gymnast’s ribbon, delivering a complex construction characterised by a clean, minimalist lines. As a result, this suite won’t dominate your space.

Upholstered in luscious, FULL-GRAIN black vintage Howe leather, this suite is upholstered in some of the finest leather ever produced. The quality and durability on display here is next-level. This T9 suite is roughly 50 years old, yet it remains in immaculate, showroom-ready condition—a true testament to the legendary craftsmanship of Tessa. This is a highly practical suite designed to last forever. The frames are remarkably lightweight and easy to move, yet they are incredibly strong, robust, and sturdy.

Comfort was never compromised for style. The Tessa T9 features perfect angles that hold you both confidently and comfortably the moment you sit down. This Tessa T9 suite is vintage (mid-1970’s production). All three pieces are in incredible condition for their age. The timber frames are brilliant. They’re solid and resilient with NO breakage, NO cracks around any joint, NO movement in any joint, NO repairs- they’re extremely sturdy and strong. Cosmetically the timber frames present very well- they’re about 50 years old so may have very minor signs of age and use but nothing that’s noticed. The cushions and leather upholstery are both in incredible condition after this many years- I rarely see furniture in such amazing condition. There are NO signs of pets or cigarette smokers- NO smells- the FULL-GRAIN leather cushions are clean and soft. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The internal cushioning is doing a great job. It’s in great condition and provides softness and support (it’s certainly not hard). These are VERY comfy chairs to sit in. The timber slats in the backs are the highest quality you can buy (much better than the netting backs on the T4). The seat height is 45cm at the front and the depth of seat is 50cm. (For freight- 0.7cbm.)
