LOCATION- Lidcombe, SYDNEY. This chair has recently been moved (and I had to pay to move it) so the price has gone up by 20 measly dollars (so $285 now). DON’T MISS IT – BARGAIN PRICE! You couldn’t try to make one of these in China for even double that these days but this is an AUTHENTIC vintage piece from the 1960’s or 1970’s.

Provenance and Background Info

A vintage cane / rattan chair in a stunning design. This chair is certainly VINTAGE- my estimate is early-1970’s but could be 1960’s with that flower-power fabric. This looks like the original fabric to me. The cushioning is supportive and doing the job well. Superior construction qualities. Rattan cane is sustainable, strong and virtually impossible to damage. I think this is an Italian design and production (there’s not many of these in Australia which is why I don’t think that this design was made in Australia- I could be wrong though). REALLY COMFORTABLE! Look at those angles! Perfect seating comfort, plus this chair has a high back to support your neck and your head (depending on how tall you are).

Comfort, stunning looks, durable and bargain price. This chair has everything going for it, including the price! What a great investment!

Use the Magnifying Tool to look closely at what you're buying. Click on the Magnifying Tool, then click on the enlarged item to Supersize each image. There is a seam in the fabric on one corner of the seat. I didn't notice this when I looked at the chair in person. It was only something I picked up in the photos. I think it's an extension of that seam to keep the fabric tight and is not a repair to the fabric. Inspect the photos and make up your own mind. I'd say this is the original fabric from the early-1970's (could ever be 60's flower-power!). This chair doesn't look new, but it has been very well looked-after.
