While the market is flooded with Eames Aluminium Group chairs and the endless sea of cheap replicas, true collectors look for designs that stand out from the crowd. This extraordinary, ultra-rare pair of 1960’s Australian Framac executive office armchairs offers a level of distinction, rarity, and comfort that standard mid-century pieces simply cannot match.

Expertly constructed with polished aluminium frames, these chairs feature a beautiful, sweeping curve to the armrests, delivering a far more elegant profile than their mainstream counterparts. Fitted with highly durable, premium Faultless-Doerner swivel and tilt mechanisms imported by Framac from Canada during production, guaranteeing a faultless glide. (I forgot to check the tinting mechanism when I was there- I will get the vendor to do this for you. They both swivel perfectly.)

We have never seen this Framac design finished in leather before, making this pair a true one-off statement. Reupholstered about 15 years ago in a premium, rich cognac-coloured leather, the warm, earthy tones create an intriguing and sophisticated contrast against the industrial coolness of the cast aluminium frame.

There are very few better ways to invest in your home or office and reduce your carbon footsprint.

Both of these Framac swivel chairs are in excellent condition for pieces that are around 55 years old. The structure and cushioning is in brilliant condition with no issues at all. The cushioning is holding it's shape extremely well with no signs of deterioration at all. The metal is also in extremely good condition for its age. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The leather upholstery is in excellent condition overall. This upholstery is about 15 years old. The chair that's in the best condition is really good- there's nothing that warrants a mention really. I'm nearly certain that chair has a very feint scratch on the back cushion- it's so feint you don't really pick it up anyway- to be expected of anything that has been used. The second chair has minor wear to the seat cushion as shown. There's nothing unsightly and I think it adds a bit of character- nothing that draws your eye. I'd say putting leather conditioner on the upholstery would even out the colour and most of what's seen would no longer be seen. You could also mix up some leather paint to that colour (takes some time to get the colour perfect) and rub that on- that would certainly improve it as well. From what I can remember with these vintage office chairs, you hold the base and then rotate the top chair section to adjust the height. I forgot to check this but can get the vendors to do this.)
