Mariani Wing Conference Office with 5-spoke base by Luca Scacchetti- Milan, Italy. This chair was designed in 2002. This is possibly the best office chair I’ve ever come across. These chairs have it all- they swivel, have a tilt mechanism which can facilitate a gentle rocking motion depending on how tightly the mechanism is applied. This chair is also height-adjustable through employing the gas-lift lever. The metal base is highly durable as is the thick saddle leather. The Mariani executive and conference armchair has a single seat and backrest structure is made of steam-bent beech. The arms are also made in steam-bent timber and slotted into the thickness of the seat thanks to a groove with a double S shape. All models are lightly padded in resilient CFC-free polyurethane foam, on the internal side of the backrest and seat and then, they’re completely covered by thick saddle leather. The rear of the backrest is padded and also completely covered in saddle leather. The arms, also covered by saddle leather.

These chairs have been in continuous production for almost 20 years now and it’s easy to comprehend the popularity. Office chairs are notorious for being ugly- picture thick black plastic covered in polyester. These have a stylish, elegant look that screams quality. The saddle-leather is luxurious- I don’t think I’ve ever seen an office chair with this type of attention to detail and sophistication. The comfort also has to be experienced to be believed! Total luxury.

This chair is about 10 years old- just look at it- very little indication of the age and it all still works exactly as it should.

These occasionally show up on the secondary market and usually sell for well over AU $3,000 each.

After many modern pieces have ended up as landfill, this quality Wing RECLINER chair by Luca Scacchetti of Italy will be passed onto yet another owner, a symbol that when something has been done well it will live on. Investing in QUALITY, second-hand designer furniture is a great way to go.

This Mariani Wing chair has been used but is in brilliant condition because of the quality of the design, construction and materials used in the manufacture. (Look at our photos. This chair may have very minor signs of use but nothing that warrants a mention.
