Provenance and Background Info

I’ve had this PAIR of bedside cabinets longer than any other piece of furniture I own- I bought them in 2001. They’ve been a mainstay (through about 20 homes I’ve lived in over the years!) because of the simplicity of the design, the peaceful curves in the front (that are not easy to build out of solid timber!) and they provide the very BEST level of storage a bedside cabinet could possibly provide. They’ve serviced me extremely well over the last 25 YEARS- I’m now looking for someone else who’ll love them as much as I’ve enjoyed having them- they’re a VERY practical storage solution! And the QUALITY is next-level. HEAVY and SOLID TIMBER- these will last forever (with normal use). And because they’re solid timber they can be sanded back and re-finished as many times as you want.

I come across a lot of amazing furniture in this job- these are such a very reluctant sale. I’ll be so sad to see these go. They’re the most practical bedside tables I’ve ever had and I also like the refined, tidy style. They look good in any type of space and the quality is the very best- I’d say they’re the best quality bedside tables I’ve ever seen. The joint/s in the drawers also seem to be HAND-constructed via Mortise & Tenon joinery. Make no mistake- they may only be about 27 years old but these are arguably the BEST QUALITY bedside tables I’ve ever come across! After 26 years of CONSTANT use and despite having moved house over 20 times with these every aspect of the structure of these is AMAZING and INSPIRING- very SOLID, very STURDY and ready to service the next person.

I can’t see this pair of bedsides ever ending up as landfill!

Similar pieces in the shops fetch $880+ EACH but most look nowhere near as good as these plus with the quality of these you can’t get any better either.

After laminate and chipboard storage pieces from Fantastic Furniture have ended up as landfill (is that really FANTASTIC???) these 25-year-old storage chests will be passed onto yet another owner. When you invest in quality second-hand furniture there’s no better way to invest in your home and reduce your carbon footprint because the item has already been road-tested and tried-out! You know exactly what you’re getting before shelling out even one cent!
