Description
Being sold UNDER CONSIGNMENT from a regular seller in Cranbourne, MELBOURNE, but can be sent anywhere in Australia for a reasonable additional fee. I’d say it’d cost about $360 to transport this piece up to Sydney. It might be harder than normal to get a carrier because of the glass front. I travelled to Melbourne and personally worked with this piece so I’d be fully versed in what I was selling.
Provenance and Background Info
A vintage Danish corner unit / corner cabinet in Pallisander Rosewood. This is one of the nicest cabinets I’ve laid eyes on. It’s just perfection in my eyes. Oozes pure class. The design is tidy which allows the quality to become the focus, as well as the beauty of the timber. Pallisander Rosewood is a highly prized timber that found favour with high-end furniture makers in the 1960’s. In the 1970’s, this timber became endangered so most furniture-makers took an environmental stand and stopped using it. Therefore, vintage Rosewood pieces are highly prized and sought-after.
This piece exhibits superior construction qualities. I’d say it’s Danish- I’ve never seen anything like it in Australia before. Corner units are such handy pieces to own. This piece would add grace and sophistication to any room and provide handy storage without taking up much floor space. The glass section also lights up.
These are also very hard to find which solidifies the investment appeal. Try finding another one like this! After most modern furniture has ended up as landfill, this quality vintage piece will be passed onto yet another generation, a symbol that when something has been done well it will live on.
